A pupa of a butterfly usually goes through four life stages before it turns into a beautiful butterfly. At Chrysalides, we believe that when a student comes to us, their mind is raw. Through well-planned and scientific mentorship, we aim to transform it into a beautiful and creative mind. Similar to the stages of development where the pupa is enclosed in a hard shell, when a student joins us, they bring with them a set of beliefs, what we refer to as preconceived notions, about mathematics, science, language, and learning in general. Hesitation and underconfidence also act as barriers between the student and their performance. These factors can also impact one's ability to speak well. We strive to help the student break through these barriers. As Alfred Tennyson beautifully quoted, “The shell must
break before the bird can fly.”
